Held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York The State of Qatar participates in the First Global Roundtable on ICT Security Capacity-Building

Yesterday, Friday, May 10, 2024, the State of Qatar participated in the first High-Level Global Roundtable on ICT Security Capacity-Building, held at United Nations Headquarters in New York. The delegation of the State of Qatar was headed by His Excellency Engineer Abdulrahman bin Ali Al-Farahid Al-Malki, President of the National Cyber Security Agency. His Excellency delivered a speech during the main panel discussion entitled: "Building Cyber Resilience for Sustainable Development by Bridging the Global Capacity Gap," emphasizing Qatar's readiness to share its expertise in building capabilities at the national level. His Excellency also participated in the first sub-session entitled "Enhancing Governance Policies and Processes" as an official speaker during which he highlighted Qatar’s experience in developing national strategies. The high-level meeting was attended by senior officials from the United Nations Member States concerned with the field of ICT security, and a number of representatives from countries to the United Nations. The meeting focused on unifying efforts and visions to enhance international capabilities in information security and cyber security. On the sidelines of the meeting, His Excellency the President of the National Cybersecurity Agency met with Her Excellency Sheikha Alia Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani, Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations. His Excellency also conducted bilateral meetings with heads of cyber security entities in both Jordan and Singapore with the aim of enhancing bilateral cooperation in relevant fields.
