For the First Time in the Middle East and North Africa The International Common Criteria Conference (ICCC) will be held in the State of Qatar

The National Cyber Security Agency announced that the State of Qatar will be hosting the International Common Criteria Conference (ICCC) from November 4th to 6th2024. This significant event will gather international government officials, industrial leaders, and researchers from the international Common Criteria Standard community. Leading up to the conference, the Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA) and the Common Criteria Users Forum (CCUF), sponsored by NCSA, will be held from October 29th to November 3rd, 2024. The ICCC, being held for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa, aims to build a bridge between the Common Criteria community, Common Criteria organizational committees, members and organizations of Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement, and policy makers. This conference offers a valuable networking opportunity for professionals involved in creating and assessing specifications, issuing certificates, auditing, and evaluating IT security for systems and services. Additionally, it will delve into policy discussions and the implementation of Common Criteria standards, as well as the work of specialized laboratories in technology product vetting and the development and assessment of IT security. Furthermore, the conference will address topics concerning the advancement of Common Criteria standards, meeting stakeholder requirements, applying standards in new domains, innovations in national and international technical communities, and the latest in cybersecurity certifications. This conference serves as a premier platform for professionals engaged in Common Criteria standards, known for its extensive coverage of IT product security. The State of Qatar achieved recognition for issuing information security certificates for electronic devices and software in 2023, becoming the first country in the Middle East and North Africa to receive such acknowledgment from the Global Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement committee. The Common Criteria Standard represents a set of international guidelines and specifications that outline a framework for evaluating and adopting information technology security. These standards ensure that IT products meet the required security standards essential in programs, devices, or technical systems used by government entities or other sectors.
