NCSA receives “Champions” Award of WSIS 2024

Today, Thursday, May 30,2024, The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), awarded the National Cyber Security Agency during the “Champions” ceremony of the World Summit on the information Society (WSIS 2024) in the presence of H.E Engineer Abdulrahman bin Ali Al-Farahid Al-Malki, President of the National Cyber Security Agency and H.E Dr. Hend Abdalrahman Al Muftah, Qatar’s Permeant Representative to UN-Geneva. The National Cyber Security’s project “Cyber Eco” was selected as one of the top four global projects in the category of building confidence and security in use of ICTs. On this occasion, H.E Engineer Abdulrahman bin Ali Al-Farahid Al-Malki, President of the National Cyber Security Agency, stated that the agency’s recognition reflects Qatar’s excellence and its constant endeavor to keep up with the rapid developments in cyberspace, enhancing cyber security for all segments of society. H.E highlighted the diligent efforts made by the state's teams represented by the National Cyber Security Agency in the field of cybersecurity awareness and digital community development over the past period. For her part, Mrs. Mashael Ali Al-Hammadi, Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Government Affairs at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology expressed that honoring the National Cyber Security Agency truly represents Qatar’s unwavering commitment to developing a safe and sustainable digital environment, and keeping pace with the rapid developments in the digital field, that caters to all societal needs in line with the 2030 Digital Agenda. She further mentioned that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology strongly backs innovative projects that bolster cybersecurity aiding in safeguarding cyberspace from risks and threats. This achievement comes as part of the efforts made by the National Cyber Security Agency to enhance cybersecurity and digital safety across all segments of society. The “Cyber Eco” field visits project stands out as a pivotal initiative targeting students in both public and private schools, educators and parents. Departing from conventional instructional methods, “Cyber Eco” employs versatile educational resources, encompassing training kits, printed and electronic educational games, cyber narratives, instructional guides, and capstone projects. The project’s core objective is to cultivate cybersecurity consciousness among students of varying educational levels of the concepts of cybersecurity and digital safety.
